The Frog & Wicket

Here at The Frog & Wicket we are keen to promote a number of the people that we come into contact with on a regular basis, be it a supplier of ours, a customer providing local business services, or one of our bands.

Please contact us if you would like us to provide a link to your website and a reciprocal one on yours!

Marvellous Festival 2010
Friday 23rd July & Saturday 24th July at Wellington Country Park - This is always the event of the year and is organised and hosted by those well known and 'marvellous' chaps Stevie Stanton & Peter Lincoln. Pete plays regularly at The Frog, and Steve will be best remembered for the hilarious Carol Shout evening in December last year. They are great fans of The Frog as we are of The Marvellous.
We have been offered a very special ticket deal on all tickets sold for Marvellous 2010 for our customers, saving 10% on the ticket prices and a further £1.00 booking fee - so if you want tickets ask for Mark at The Frog or email him your details to enquiries@thefrogandwicket.co.uk and he will make sure you get one. TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE from Mark, but transport places have now all gone to those who booked by this morning (23/7/10), so call the pub before saturday 11.30am!
There is a great line of bands this year including The Velvet Hearts who are appearing on the Friday.
See Marvellous 2010 for full details of this years line up.

The Velvet Hearts are without a doubt the most talented and best supported band ever to play at The Frog, with the ability to fill the pub on a Monday night, to turn up with some of the most accomplished musicians to play in pubs these days, and to go from supporting Jon Bon Jovi at the 02 Arena one week and back to The Frog & Wicket the next. The songs are something else, and we should all support them and buy their albums. I can only suggest you start by diggin around thier website, looking for thier videos on You Tube, and check out our diary to see when they are next making an appearance at The Frog. You might see them listed as John James Newman & Friends or the Velvet Hearts, but that depends on what line up John is bringing with him, no matter who comes it's always awesome. The Velvets Check out both web sites and BUY thier albums - these guys WILL be famous one day - we're sure!

Sandy Newman is the long serving singer/frontman & lead guitarist of the internationally acclaimed band The Marmalade , whose successes include Reflections of my Life, Rainbow, LovingThings, Cousin Norman, Radancer, Falling Apart at the Seams and the Lennon McCartney ditty Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Da amongst others, and we were thrilled to have them play at The Frog & Wicket back in 2009 - what a night that was! Sandy started working on a solo album project back in Jan 2009. The album 'Golden Years', marries brand new self-penned songs alongside a few classic personal favourites such as, 'Wichita Lineman' & 'Homeward Bound'. Check out Sandy's web site and listen to the album extracts, better still get down to see him at The Frog, where we are occasionally lucky enough to have him join his son John James Newman & The Velvet Hearts from time to time. Next Playing at The Frog Friday 25th July 2010. Sandy Newman
