VACANCY
POSITION: Deputy Bar Manager/ess
HOURS: Full-Time 40 - 50 hours p/week
RATE of PAY: Commencing Hourly, Subject to Experience
START DATE: Immediate
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The candidate will in the first place have current and in depth experience of a supervisory role in this industry, with the desire to continue their own personal development in this business. You will be required to support our Bar Manager taking charge in his absence and be responsible for all aspects of running a very busy pub. You will preferably be experienced with basic cellar work (line changing & cleaning), stock control and stock rotation.
You will need to be of outgoing character without being imposing. You should be confident and customer friendly, smart, presentable and mature. You will be literate & numerate and used to handling money. You will be expected to bring something to our organisation that will aid our development as a business and enhance the experience of all of our customers. You will be calm, capable and able to communicate well and delegate approriately to other staff. You will need to be able to work comfortably alongside your colleagues & superiors. You will comfortable working with all tasks in the business and not afraid of 'mucking in' or getting your hands dirty!
The right applicant will preferably hold some or all of the following, or similar equivalents of; Licencing Act 2003 NCPLH-Personal Licence, Basic Hygiene Certificate, A certificate in Cellar Management. Full training will be given to the right candidate.
The job requires working what are often termed unsociable hours since as an industry we are at work when others are out enjoying themselves. You will be rota'd to work a mixture of shifts including weekdays, evenings & weekends, and most likely some split shifts.
