At The Frog & Wicket we dont just advertise exciting events and occasions, we really do have exciting events and occasions. We love to entertain you at every opportunity. New for 2012 - Tuesday Night is QUIZ NIGHT!
Tuesday nights will now be Quiz Nights at The Frog & Wicket. Details to follow soon, but there will be prizes including cash & roll-overs, and plenty of fun rounds - it will be held in Toads Hall away from the main bar. Get your friends together and make a team! Who will be Frog 1 Champions of 2012 and go head to head against Frog 2? See the DIARY for details.
Live Music
Monday nights are LIVE MUSIC nights. We always have either a band or a soloist playing what we can only describe as Popular Rock, you know, the sort of tunes to which we all know the first verse and chorus if not the rest! See the DIARY for details.
SATURDAY Evenings are always LIVE MUSIC nights.
When we first started here we ran Live Music events twice a month on either a Friday or Saturday. Now in 2011, we are filling every SATURDAY with a Live Band, so keep an eye on the dairy, what few weekend gaps there are we will get filled as best as possible. Saturday Night is Party Night at The Frog & Wicket.
Some of the bigger bands get to play on the weekend dates, and we also from time to time throw in a few extra dates here & there - these are truly great nights to be out at The Frog. We are however, still not 100% consistent with our music dates as we keep throwing in extra dates, some to suit us and some to suit the bands, and some just because we think its a good idea - so keep an eye on the diary for details!
Sunday Lunch Times are special at The Frog & Wicket. We will entertain you with LIVE MUSIC while you enjoy your Sunday Lunch or a drink at the bar. Jazz Piano or Sax, a Jazz Trio, Old Fashioned ‘London’ Jingle Jangle Piano, a Harpist or Swing Music in the format of the famous Rat Pack amongst others.
Christmas
Our Christmas line of events is now displayed on our web diary, please take a look at the wonderful musical line up in store. We will lof course be open for drinks between 12 & 2pm and we'd love to see you for a pre-christmas drink if you can get away from your turkey!
New Years Eve & New Years Day
We will be hosting our annual New Years Eve Party with a 'Vegas Theme' this year. Thsi year we are erecting a marquee on the front of the pub making more space, there will be 3 casino tables, music from Mr Stone and a Disco. A complimentary gourmet buffet is included in your ticket price, and tickets are now on sale behind the bar. Get in early as they dont seem to last long and we are limited on numbers!
New Years Day (Sunday) we will be offering the ultimate hangover cure. A special 2 or 3 course roast lunch with all the trimmings and other options, accompanied by a glass of champagne to see in the New Year. Booking for this event is adviseable, we really do not know if we will be able to acommodate 'walk-in' lunches on this day!

St Patricks Party - Saturday March 17th
The menu for the weekend will be smothered in Home-cooked Irish dishes, and there will of course be plenty of Guinness available. Saturday night will be all about Irish Music and mayhem with lots of giveaways and music from Irish guitarist Daniel McHugh supported by a host of others.
4th Anniversary Party - Monday March 19th
As we complete 4 years in YOUR pub, we'd like to say a special thank you to all of you for your amazing support. Come and join us for for some free grub and raise a glass to another year completed.
50th Birthday Invitation - Saturday 31st March
I know its hard to believe just by looking at him, but.... Mark is 50 years young today! The Velvet Hearts will be providing the entertainment - thanks John James! Come and join Mark for a bit of Hog Roast and good evenings fun!
Guitar Hero Night Monday April 2nd
For the 3rd year running, the two big guitarists will come head to head to decide just who is our Guitar Hero for 2012. Last years winner Robbie 'Balboa' Lee defends his title against Mark 'The Badger' Porch (Off The Record). Now this is an event for real guitars (not the nintendo ones)! (This note was put for the benefit of one person - you know who you are).

Classic Vehicles Day - Sun 19th Aug 2012
After the great success of our first two Classic Vehicle Days we are delighted to bring you our 3rd event event at The Frog & Wicket.
Our 2011 event attracted around 70 fabulous vehicles dating back to pre-war. Our Winners went away with some fabulous trophies & bottles of wine, and we hope to see all of you again this coming year! So, if yours is pre-1972, and if you would like to bring it down and show it off you'll be very welcome. There will be a BBQ & Hog Roast, Sunday Lunch as usual and a mini Beer Festival (8 real ales), Prizes & Raffle. The event is on from 10am with coffee (free to exhibitors), soft drinks & bacon rolls available, then the bars will open at 12 with Sunday lunch and a variety of other options on offer. A live music event will kick off around 1.30pm with TBA, followed later on by TBA from 6.00pm & will go on until about 8.00pm. Pray for good weather which will make this a smashing event - we hope to see you there!
TV
We aim to show as much sport as 'Free to Air' TV will provide. Grand Prix's (including a special GP Breakfast for the early ones), World Cup, Champions League Football, FA Cup, Royal Ascot, Cheltenham Festival, Wimbledon, Grand National, Olympics, Boat Race etc. TV is mainly kept away from the main bar where conversation and music normally take priority, and is shown on a big screen in Toads Hall.
Cricket, is big at the Frog & Wicket, as you would expect with us living opposite Englands oldest functioning cricket pitch, the home of Eversley Cricket Club (founded in 1787). Top class Cricket has been played on the picturesque ground at Cross Green, Eversley for more than 220 years.
Car & Bike Clubs, we are pleased to be associated with a variety of Car Enthusiasts & Motorcycle Clubs, who from time to time put us on their schedule of places to stop off, and display their fantastic cars and bikes from days gone by.We are regularly visited by SELOC (South East lotus Club), Morgans, Rover 75 Club, Harley Davidsons etc.
Beaujolais Nouveau Thursday 15th November 2012
Last year was great year for the new wine from Lauren & Fils, a well renowned producer of the Beaujolais. The weather had been kind as the summer came early in the region allowing the wine longer to mature in the barrels. Lets hope its as good in 2012!
We always celebrate this occasion at The Frog, and not for any other reason than our enjyment of the Beaujolais and the fun event it provides. A great home cooked French meal is on offer (2 or 3 courses) with free bottle of the new wine per couple. Lynn Garner and Jazz A La Carte will once more be providing the music and dancing (in French of course), and we will be dressed up for fun, so please do join us for a wonderful evening! If you cant make the Thursday here, you could possible squeeze in at Rotherwick on the Friday! |
